In this clip, Celia is interviewed shortly after my conference with her that day. She describes why the fire drill at the Halloween Happening at school was so important to her. Celia describes the feelings she had in during this experience by saying it felt like she had had worms for lunch.
What a smart way to describe those butterfly feelings we have all had at one time or another. Celia is quite articulate.
| STUDENT: | I'm writing about when I was like going to the Halloween Happening and why it was so important. |
| VISITOR: | Can you tell me why it was important? |
| STUDENT: | I remember one thing that was important there was a lot of noise and it happened when I was small, like this age and then it happened that it - all of a sudden and I had to - and I had a really weird feeling. I felt like I ate worms for lunch because I had so weird feelings. And my stomach was wiggling waggling all around. |
| VISITOR: | Do you do this kind of writing before? Have you told these type of stories of yours before? |
| STUDENT: | Yeah, because I've done kind of the process. Because I kind of like I published one of these before but I've never done that one was about something important. But we've done over on that chart, but never in our source book before. |
| VISITOR: | You look like you're writing quite a bit. |
| STUDENT: | Yeah. |
| VISITOR: | What do you like about it? |
| STUDENT: | I like it because it's kind of interesting, because - and also because it - I have some stories I want to tell other people if I can and I can't remember them so that's why I write them down, so I can remember it. |
